Carmina Burana........is about?

by workandbooks @ 19. Jul 2008 - 10:36:46 pm

The most stupidest program is on Channel 4 at the moment Jackass. Stupid.
When it came on though a piece of music which I love to bits came on, so I looked it up on youtube.....and found it. Remember the music to the Old Spice advert millions of years ago?

Looking at other videos it appears to be from an opera - Carmina Burana. Not keen on opera but I love this famous piece. Any one know what the opera is about? It looks very dramatic on the videos I've seen, please explain - I'm not one of the most culturally educated people on earth.

Here's a vid of the music, but obviously this isn't the opera.

It's not actually about anything.

There’s no story as such.

It's a collection of poems set to music.

Lovin the vid ... Adam.

Thank you for your help Adam. So the video is the animators interpretation of the music.

Um, sorry. I had to go to work on Tuesday and forgot my camera and Monday I didn't get around to it either. Will try today though.

Still wondering if you have taken an extended holiday. It's a long way back to the 19th LOL.

We will settle with the fact that you are enjoying a form of summer hibernation - LOL.

Hi Skip, sorry for the delay in replying. Sadly I must say goodbye to everyone for now (see my post of this evening). I'm sure I'll be back though in the future - it's been fun being part of weathercheck and long may it reign (yes reign, not rain, we want as little of that as possible :) ) Hugs, byeeeee.

All understood and thank you for making time to explain.
