Nooooo, nobody told me. I don't listen to the news, I switch off. No one told me it was the Olympics this year.

Is there no end to the incessant boredom of yet another sport marathon. Boring in your face, sheer unadulterated boredom. No sooner is the European cup finished than they start on Wimbledon - which is OK I s'pose, plus they don't rearrange other progs on TV to accommodate it. Well may be they do, but I don't watch East Enders so that's OK then.

Why do people get so excited about how many gold medals their country has won? I couldn't care less, seriously, I just couldn't give a damn. But then am I patriotic? Nope. Am I cynical? Yep. Am I bored? Yaaaay.

Wish this was till on TV, it must be more interesting than watching the Olympics.

You are quite right. Sport has been more than overdone on TV. Nowadays we are faced with what closely resemble maniacs both on and off the fields of play.

Mmm, glad I don't live there. They went on about the Commonwealth games when they were in Manchester. My husband repaired the mobile glass squash court they had there. It was moved around on something similar to a hovercraft with compressed air making it rise a fraction off the ground so it was easy to move - I seem to recall it got a puncture.

They had a smashing time playing. It was the centre court for the finals I think and was glass so a capacity crowd could watch from all angles.

Be grateful the Olympics are in China, when they come to London then we will really have to pull the shutters down.

But at least it will be confined to the south east.

Oh well, by the time they have it in London I will have had time to sort out my emigration to China, cos they'll have had theirs and won't be having it there again for a very long time. Um... are they keen football fans? Does it rain much in China?

Aaw, aah, yawns, hand on mouth - TV just not switched on - radio nearly as bad. Critical thinking and cynicism are no bad thing. :)

Yes but sometimes I'm so critical and so cynical that I even start to get on my own nerves :)) Thank you for your invite by the way :)

Critical cynicism or cynical criticism.

Is there a difference?

Umph, I'm still trying to get my head round that one since I read it last night! I think I'm with the second.

Cynically speaking, you tell me.

I'm far too naive and innocent to be cynical or critical.

But then, I am male!

I am unable to comment on your alleged naivety, cynicism and critical faculties, however, I would suggest, gender aside, that your avatar describes you. :)

You mean a sly cove with a chiselled jaw, red whiskers and an unfortunate appetite for rabbit?

Not to mention me bushy tail. ;)

I couldn't begin to discuss a bushy tail, even the one you say you have; there's none to be seen. :)

My English is slipping again. It's a brush of course, but it is very bushy! ;)
